Each year, institutions across the country honor the tradition of Homecoming. From the football game to the tailgating, this is a special time for students and alumni to celebrate and be in the company of friends. HAND welcomes you to experience its own version of Homecoming, featuring the signature Housing Expo and HAND awards, and programming showcasing our region’s Historically Black Colleges & Universities and their impact on our communities.
HAND is a nonprofit membership collective comprised of over 450 institutions working across the private, public and social sectors to collaborate in the production and preservation of affordable housing in the Capital Region of Baltimore, Washington, and Richmond. Representing the ecosystem of partners who collaborate in bringing equitable communities to fruition, HAND works to disrupt the systems that perpetuate inequity in the communities it serves. It does this by embedding racial equity into its operations, practices, and programming, and activating the membership through policy forums and advocacy designed to drive impact for Black and brown communities residing at the sharpest intersections of inequity.
The Parks at Walter Reed events are sponsored by Children’s National Hospital, Aspen Square at The Parks by NVHomes, The Vale, The Brooks, Streetsense, and BKV Group.
