  • Gaysians! Book Club chats SHADOW LIFE

    Join us for our Gaysians! Book Club, led by Loyalty’s resident gaysian Christine! As you can imagine from the name, this book club will focus on reading and championing books by Queer Asian authors. We’ll read books from a variety of genres that explore the full spectrum of queer identities within the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora. Starting in 2025, we’ll meet at The DC Pop Up, located by the Green at The Parks Historic Walter Reed, at 1155 Dahlia St NW. While all are welcome, please note that this space is created to be a safe and centering space for Queer and BIPOC readers. This month we’ll be discussing Shadow Life by Hiromi Got and illustrated by Ann Xu.     Loyalty is so excited to host Drag Story Hour with Charlemagne Chateau! Drag Story Hour takes place on the second Sunday of the month at 11 AM.     Meet Cute Book Club celebrates sexy, swoon-worthy Romance reads every month. While we’ll mostly focus on contemporary love stories, we’re excited to read across sub-genres within Romancelandia. This month, we’re chatting about Icarus by K Ancrum! Meet Cute Book Club is hosted by Loyalty’s resident Romance mavens, Sandie Chen and Chardai Powell, who are committed to an inclusive book club for anyone ready for romances that make you laugh, swoon, blush, and occasionally cry. We’re meeting in partnership with the awesome DC POP UP which is a collaborative space on the Parks at Historic Walter Reed featuring other BIPOC and woman owned businesses! Join Loyalty co-owner Hannah Oliver Depp at our latest book club chatting favorite and much loved reads that we can all use for the coming four years. We’ll be chatting great reads and hanging out in the beautiful new space every third Thursday. Our next installment is the wonderful book A Reason to See You Again by Jami Attenberg. Please RSVP.

  • In the Margins Book Club chats THE MESSAGE

    Join us for our In the Margins book club led by Sarah @bookishandblack! Formerly known as the Well-Read Black Girl book club, our In The Margins book club continues to focus on typically “marginalized” authors who create works of fiction and nonfiction that we adore! Sarah will lead her thoughtful, fun discussions in-person on the fourth Monday of the month at 7PM! Starting in 2025, we’ll meet at The DC Pop Up, located next to JINYA Ramen, at 1155 Dahlia St NW. This month, the book club will be chatting about The Message by Ta-Nahesi Coates! This space is created to be a safe and centering space for all readers with a focus on championing the voices most often silenced in our society. Please RSVP.
