Gaysians! Book Club chats SHADOW LIFE
Join us for our Gaysians! Book Club, led by Loyalty’s resident gaysian Christine! As you can imagine from the name, this book club will focus on reading and championing books by Queer Asian authors. We’ll read books from a variety of genres that explore the full spectrum of queer identities within the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora. Starting in 2025, we’ll meet at The DC Pop Up, located by the Green at The Parks Historic Walter Reed, at 1155 Dahlia St NW. While all are welcome, please note that this space is created to be a safe and centering space for Queer and BIPOC readers. This month we’ll be discussing Shadow Life by Hiromi Got and illustrated by Ann Xu. Meet Cute Book Club celebrates sexy, swoon-worthy Romance reads every month. While we’ll mostly focus on contemporary love stories, we’re excited to read across sub-genres within Romancelandia. Formerly known as the Well-Read Black Girl book club, our In The Margins book club continues to focus on typically “marginalized” authors who create works of fiction and nonfiction that we adore!
